The Erasmus+ mobility in Konya was also an opportunity to discover Turkish culture, traditions, and unique places together with international partners.
The group then went on a tour of the charming town of Sille. After a lunch break, everyone returned to Konya, where they visited the Bicycle Museum.
The day concluded with an extraordinary cultural event – a dervish dance performance, known as the Sema ceremony, a mystical form of moving meditation, originating from the traditions of Jalal ad-Din Rumi.
The participants spent the next day in snow-covered Cappadocia. It was a time full of excitement – the group explored rock labyrinths and admired the extraordinary rock formations, which are exceptionally picturesque in winter. The trip fostered a sense of overcoming barriers, immersing themselves in a new culture, and building international relationships.
The final day of the mobility was spent leisurely exploring Konya. Participants went on a walking tour of the city, visiting sites such as the Mevlana Museum, where they learned about Rumi’s philosophy and admired richly decorated sarcophagi and manuscripts. They then visited a local bazaar, where they purchased traditional souvenirs such as hand-painted pottery, spices, and the distinctive „eye of the prophet.
The mobility concluded with a joint project review. Participants unanimously emphasized that the knowledge gained, new experiences, and friendships forged were the most valuable outcomes of this international exchange.
